ACHIEVEMENTS

The Friends of Chelmsford Museums was established to support the various activities of Chelmsford Museums.   Fund raising is a priority and the money raised is used to enhance the museum's infrastructure and to purchase additional artefacts.   Money raised locally can sometimes encourage national organisations to make a contribution towards the purchase of a specific object.

The Friends have assisted with the purchase of the following  : -

•   Iron Age gold coins from Great Leighs    ( donation )

•   Painting of Chelmsford Cathedral by John Buckler    ( donation )

•   Painting of a mill near Little Baddow by H J Kinnaird    ( donation )

•   Painting of two ashbins by Edward Bawden    ( donation )

•   Victorian kitchen double range    ( donation )

•   Victorian kitchen dresser    ( fully funded )

•   Jet jewellery    ( donation )
