                                                          The Friends of Hylands House were formed to preserve and improve the
                                                          house together with the associated park for the benefit of the public and to
                                                          promote both for public use.

                                    BRITISH  ASSOCIATION  OF  FRIENDS  OF  MUSEUMS
                                                          The British Association of Friends of Museums is an independent organisation
                                                          which supports and encourages Friends groups associated with museums,
                                                          galleries and heritage centres.   It has links to government departments and
                                                          national organisations and offers advice on common problems and legal
                                                          requirements.

                                 THE  SUSAN  TRUST
                                                          The Susan Trust was established to restore,  preserve and operate the
                                                           lighter Susan as the only wooden lighter purpose built for the Chelmer
                                                           and Blackwater Navigation.   Chelmsford Borough Council provide a
                                                           berth and mooring for Susan on the River Chelmer at Sandford Mill.

                                           ESSEX  NUMISMATIC  SOCIETY
                                                           The Essex Numismatic Society meets in Chelmsford Museum and aims to
                                                           foster an interest in all aspects of numismatics.   ie  coins from all sources
                                                           plus medals and medallions ( military and commemorative ),  tokens,
                                                           bank notes and cheques.
